Are natural health supplements good for the human body? Currently there is a big debate that is raging on this issue. With consumers wanting more and more of them, you will come across countless natural health supplements on the web and in the shopping malls. And most of them are making tall claims. If you have to trust their claims, then there should not be any case for any worries. Any deficiency in your diet can easily be covered by the use of these supplements. Does that mean all dietary problems are solved? Well, that does not seem to be the case.

Some people believe that natural health supplements are no good. In fact they feel that not only are they not beneficial, but they actually cause harm to the human body. Government bodies and agencies are also beginning to take notice of their concerns and starting to make stringent guidelines to control the tall claims that are made by most natural health supplements. In the US, the FDA or 'Food and Drug Administration' has come down strongly on these companies.

Europe has also started to a second look. Measures have been announced which the British health food industry feel will ban thousands of food supplement sellers. The dispute over the European health supplements laws has taken a legal angle and has even reached the European Court of Justice. The British parliament is also hot over the issue of regulating health foods.

If the regulators have their way, as many as 5,000 vitamin and mineral supplements will become illegal from 1st August this year. Naturally they will no more be available and anyone still selling them will be committing a serious crime.

While there seems to be a few gaps in the regulations, but one thing is for certain. We are rapidly moving in to an age when natural health supplement providers will have to act much more responsibly. The age of stringent regularization is on.
